Today I was congratulated by many residents for the outstanding job of the local Conservatives winning a seat in the Woolston ward at last months local council elections.
Most residents are fed up with the Labour run council failing on basic public services. Residents told me that they do not want a failed Labour councillor who has lost twice in general elections in 2015 and 2017 in Southampton North as their MP. Who would blame them!!!!
As one resident put it, "if the Labour candidate was a councillor and cabinet member when the council was ranked 276th in the country, and he has come third in general elections, not once, but twice, what makes you think he can represent us in Westminster? Sidney, you're getting my vote."
The same message was also shared by other residents. The city of Southampton is a mess. Labour have failed, and the Labour candidate is a central part of that failure. It's time for the city of Southampton to be represented properly by someone who listens. Do not pick the local candidate, pick the best candidate.
