Today I visited Ocean Village to listen to residents and business owners and find out how I can do more to serve them. Keeping residents safe by keeping the street lights on and increasing police officers on the streets were two of the key themes that I was told about. Thank you to everyone that shared your experiences with me today.
“Hi. I’m Sidney Yankson the Parliamentary Candidate for Southampton Itchen. I’m here today in Ocean Village talking to local residents about one of my key priorities, which is tackling crime and security.
As you know the Labour council has been turning off street lights, which has led to increased crimes and feelings of vulnerability for members of the public. One of my key priorities is to make sure that the public can be protected and I also want to prioritise the safety of women and girls.
As I travel around the city, and talk to members of the public, I want you to engage with me. If you see me on the doorstep please do come and say hello. I need to hear from you, and hear about your issues.
Thank you very much, and I look forward to meeting you over the weeks and months on the campaign trail. Many thanks.”
If you have suffered from any crime, including theft or burglary, I would like to hear from you.
Please get in touch with my office.
