Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting Michael, a 91-year-old army veteran on the anniversary of D-Day.
Michael told me that he served with the Hampshire regiment and that he went to Normandy 5 years after D-Day.
Michael also carried Mountbatten's coffin. A living legend here in Southampton. It was an honour to chat with Michael and we thank him and all other veterans for their service.
