I visited Centenary Quay in Woolston to highlight levelling up and support for the high streets in Southampton.
"Hello good afternoon. I’m Sidney Yankson the parliamentary candidate for Southampton Itchen and I’m here in Centenary Quay to talk about regeneration and levelling up of our local high streets. As you can see behind me we have a fantastic facility with great accommodation for the great people of Southampton. Unfortunately there hasn’t been enough love shown to the retail offering to bring the high street back to life.
If I’m elected I will make sure that we have enough funding to bring in shops like Samuel’s behind me, which has sadly closed down.I will make sure that all the other amenities that need to be here for the local people of Woolston, to make this the thriving metropolis that it should be for the people of Woolston and also the people of Southampton Itchen.
I look forward to meeting you all on the doorstep over the next few weeks and months to make sure that Centenary Quay and the other areas of Southampton Itchen can be brought back to where they should be.
Thank you very much."
