I fully support the Government in the £4.7 billion fund to transform transport across the North and Midlands. The transport budget targeted at smaller cities, towns and rural areas will fund projects that matter most to local communities.
I would also urge the Government to focus on Southampton transport. The same problems with transport infrastructure occur in Southampton. I would ask for funding to:
- improve the waterfront and make it pedestrian friendly,
- fix potholes,
- build a train stop at St. Mary's Stadium,
- improve the local bus networks, and
- provide a bus service for retired and low-mobility residents living alone.
Please get in touch with me, as I would like to hear your views.
