I am strongly opposed to the rise to Council house tenants in Southampton. Rents will increase by almost eight per cent. I have met council tenants on the doorstop and they have told me that poor management and decision making by the Labour run council has led to council tenants having to suffer. This will put more pressure on the city’s most vulnerable people.
Leader of the Conservative Party, Cllr Daniel Fitzhenry, told me if the Conservatives were running the council, we would be freezing council rents.
